Re: Shameless
Fri, December 12, 2008 - 4:15 AMGosh, Stuart, all kudos to this music, but this isn't even close to industrial by anyone's definition.
consequently, it just seems like spam to me to post it. -

Re: Shameless
Fri, December 12, 2008 - 5:29 AMMy apologies, Rick, and to anyone else that sees this as spam. I never intended to come off like an internet robot. A similar message was posted in a few areas that I felt might have some folks that would be interested in the music.
As for it not being "industrial" by anyone's definition, I would agree that "Slave," the second track does not hearken to "Throbbing Gristle" or "Coil" but it and the other two pieces owe quite a bit to "Esplendor Geometrico" and to other post-punk ensembles whose sensibility certainly has been impacted by what you (might) term "industrial music." I don't spend a lot of time refining my categories, so, if the title tracks from such an album as OMD's "Dazzle Ships" is not industrial, then I stand corrected. Is the guitar music of Glen Branca considered "industrial" or "new classical?"
Just looking for discussion.
