Re: Apoptygma Berzerk (only US Show)
Mon, January 8, 2007 - 3:28 AMGod,
I just got his latest CD.
I hate to say it but I hate it.
It sounds like he's trying to do a different style of pop music on every single CD in the past several.
Sugary euro synth last time around.
Melodic Metal Pop on this one.
I hate to be one of those people who confine an artist to his earlier work but I so preferred the Apop of
'Seven' to the Apop of Two Thousand and Seven -

Mon, January 8, 2007 - 5:46 PMbut even though you don't like the album-would you still go see the band if they played in CA?

Re: Apoptygma Berzerk (only US Show)
Mon, January 8, 2007 - 5:53 PMI second this, actually. He's gotten way more poppy the past couple albums. Kind of Synth-shmaltz. I loved the earlier stuff as well.
Given how many tours are designed to promote an album, I'd go to a show only if I knew that it wasn't mostly going to be new stuff. -

Re: Apoptygma Berzerk (only US Show)
Tue, January 9, 2007 - 6:08 PMwell, the new record is a rock record really...............there's hardly any synth pop to it at all
and certainly no synth goth, so I have to say, no, I think I'd save up the money to go see a show
that's more in the line of industrial, goth, power noize, ebm, experimental, avante garde or
kick butt world music.
